NEW BOOK AVAILABLE FROM ARN AT AMAZON-BUSTER PRICE OF $21.95:
Icons of Evolution: Science or Myth?
by Jonathan WellsWhat would you say if I told you that ten of the most prominent arguments used as examples of neo-Darwinian evolution in today's biology textbooks are inconclusive, incomplete or outright fraudulent? I hope you'd say "show me", because that is exactly what Jonathan Wells does in his new book Icons of Evolution: Science or Myth?
Noted author and Berkeley professor Phillip Johnson says, "This is one of the most important books ever written about the evolution controversy. It shows how devotion to the ideology of Darwinism has led to textbooks which are full of misinformation."
Michael Behe, Professor of Biological Sciences and author of Darwin's Black Box states: "Jonathan Wells demonstrates with stunning clarity that the textbook examples Darwinists themselves chose as the pillars of their theory are all false or misleading. What does this imply about their scientific standards? Why should anyone now believe any of their other examples?"
What would you say if I told you for the next 10 days we are going to offer this book at prices below Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble? "Send me one!" I would hope is your reply. I will provide you the link to order the book in a minute, but first let me tell you more about the contents. The book is organized with an introduction and conclusion and one chapter on each of the faulty arguments:
If you are not convinced that this is a book you must have just from the endorsements and table of contents, check out a sneak preview of Wells' chapter on Peppered Moths that was published in the May 1999 issue of Scientist:

Jonathan Wells has a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California at Berkeley and is currently a Senior Fellow at the Discovery Institute's Center for the Renewal of Science and Culture. He has the credentials to critique the science evidence as well as the textbooks. In Appendix I of Icons of Evolution Wells grades 10 popular high school and college biology textbooks and their use of selected icons of evolution. He provides very clear criteria for what constitutes an "A" through "F" grade regarding the treatment of each icon and then offers a summary report card. Since I know you can't stand to wait a week or two to find out how your favorite textbook scored, we are providing a sneak preview of Appendix I of the book for our faithful ARN friends:

The first book review of Icons of Evolution has appeared in the Edmonton Sun:

While we don't expect such kind reviews from the Darwinian establishment, it's nice to see such positive comments from the popular press. Dr. Wells will be busy composing responses to his critics over the next few months and we have dedicated an area on the ARN web page to collect those for you. Based on the responses to the Scientist article mentioned above, we expect the critics to dismiss his arguments outright as insignificant or to challenge his credentials or motives. To read his one of his answers to such a response go to:
