RealScience-4-Kids is a comprehensive
science curriculum geared towards the elementary grade levels.
In October 2001 we launched our RealScience-4-Kids Curriculum with
Chemistry Level I for 3-5 graders. The concept is simple: Take
high school level science and repackage it in a way that is fun and
interesting for elementary students. Now your 3rd-5th
grader can progress from chemistry to biology and learn about concepts
such as taxonomy, cells, photosynthesis, microscopes, life cycles, and
ecosystems. We think its possible to teach kids good biology without
giving Darwin all the credit. Download our sample chapter and discover
why our colorful graphics and hands-on labs make learning this material
fun for kids.
The Biology I Curriculum package is now offered in a 77-page,
full-color hardbound Student Text, 124 page Teacher's Manual, and a
55 page Laboratory Notebook.
By providing information through a systematic introduction of basic
science facts, the RealScience curriculum gives every teacher the basic
knowledge and structure needed to provide students with a good understanding
of what science is and what it says about the world around us. Children
are naturally inquisitive and want real answers to their questions.
They are also naturally inclined toward hands-on experimentation. The
RealScience approach combines these two natural interests to guide students
into scientific thinking and actual science investigation. The main
purpose of the curriculum is not to turn every student into a scientist,
but rather to equip students (and teachers!) with enough foundational
knowledge so that they can think critically about the world around them
and evaluate for themselves the various claims and counter-claims they
will encounter in daily life.
And don't think RealScience-4-Kids is just for homeschoolers. Traditional
schools have also been ordering our materials for use in the classroom
setting.
